The walls we constructed to keep out sadness, also keeps out happiness.
I exist between lines
also, construct, constructed, happiness, joy, keep, keep out, keeps, out, sadness, the, to, walls, you

It’s a choice.. some people like to wallow in self pity and sadness, because they can’t forgive themselves

Yes,it is a choice, in a way.
Still, it seems most people have defenses of some kind. I guess that is why we aren’t enlightened? Often we don’t even know about the defenses, unless we think about it for a bit, and then we suddenly know about these walls. But we may still think we need them, and choose to keep it.
So yes it is a choice, but we may suffer from the illusion that we need these walls, so then maybe it isn’t a choice after all, as we haven’t really known any other way of functioning?

absolutely… It’s like the Stockholm syndrome. I speak from experience.. I like to build walls because that’s all I have ever known to cope with my environment. Not necessarily the best thing for me… but its my comfort zone…

You understand… Sorry about that. Or happy about that, depending on how you see it. 😉

yes, agree, it’s like walls built to protect from getting hurt which in the same time don’t let love come through. 🙂
